New Directions for Islamic Finance at WIBC 2009

Notwithstanding the global economic turmoil, last year's 15th Anniversary of the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) set new records as more than 1,200 industry leaders gathered in force to debate the future direction of Islamic banking in these challenging times. Thus far, Islamic banks have shown tremendous resilience. However, as the fall-out from the global economic crisis continues to impact business models across the world, 2009 will be even more critical as decision-makers in the global Islamic banking industry look to strengthen their market position, manage risk and seek renewed growth paths.

The 16th Annual World Islamic Banking Conference, internationally recognised as the largest and most significant gathering of Islamic banking and finance leaders in the world, will be held on the 6th, 7th & 8th of December 2009 at the Gulf Hotel in Bahrain.
